Take a drive and join JohnO & Jo for two days of fun on the calmer side of Florida. From the east coast, take SR 70 over to Bradenton, then I-75/275 north, over the skyway bridge, to Saint Petersburg/Madeira Beach. Feb 27: Arrive mid afternoon for a walk on our fabulous beach and/or a dip in the pool/hot tub. Happy hour at 4, dinner, (roast pork loin and sides) at 5:30pm.
Feb 28: St. Petersburg day of culture. In the morning, visit the magnificent museums of St. Petersburg and/or shop downtown. There are several old favorites (Dali, Chihuly, etc.) and a brand new one focused on western and southwestern art.
1PM - Luncheon at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club - order and pay from the menu. Then cruise home or stay and visit what you missed.
Please bring an appetizer to serve 6, your favorite beverage(s), and $10 pp to cover the dinner, ice, water and incidentals. Please respond by 2/25.
Hotels in the area include Marriott Courtyard as well as several "Mom and Pop" places - JohnO and Jo are investigating options for folks who want to get a room. No sleeping on the beach!!
